The Val Pusteria is located in the "Alto Adige-South Tyrol"; it is a long and narrow valley stretching between Bressanone and Lienz through the Eastern Alps, at the Austrian-Italian border. The biggest town is Brunico: from here, a charming route, where picturesque Tyrolean villages alternate with scenic natural landscapes, runs through the valley up to San Candido and Sesto.
TRAVELLING IN THE VALLEY
The Festival takes place in the central valley of Val Pusteria (the area between Chienes and Sillian) and in three lateral valleys of Anterselva, Casies and Braies; the valleys are about 50 km away from each other and the average travelling time is 50 minutes - see the 'travelling times map' in pdf.
If you travel by bus or by car you should depart from Via Val Pusteria, a level road that crosses the valley and connects all the little towns. From Via Val Pusteria three routes branch off northbound towards the lateral valleys of Anterselva and Casies and southbound towards the valley of Braies.
