the dolomites

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAINS OF THE WORLD

The Dolomites, a worldwide famous mountain chain of unique beauty, rise in the North Eastern part of Italy.
Thanks to the particular components of the rocks they are made of, the Dolomites are characterized by a spectacular visual effect. At dawn and sunset a pink, red and purple light colors the mountains' peaks covered by glaciers and perpetual snow.

THE DOLOMITES OF ALTO ADIGE, UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE

The 26th of June 2009 was an historical date for the Dolomites. On that day, in Seville, within the 33rd session, the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO inscribed the Dolomites in the lists of the 'World Heritage Sites'.
Being among the 'World Heritage Sites' is an achievement of paramount importance. Suffice it to think that out of 176 world's sites inscribed in the list of natural heritage, there only two Italian sites: the Aeolian Islands and the Dolomites.
